Join former Western Australian Premier, Hon Colin Barnett AC, for a special evening of conversation, reflection and insight as he discusses his new memoir, Out West: Big State, Small Town.
Hosted by Ben Harvey from The West Australian, this event will explore the people, decisions and defining moments that helped shape modern Western Australia.
From the transformation of Perth’s skyline to major trade relationships with Asia, landmark infrastructure projects and the economic forces that positioned WA as Australia’s powerhouse state, Colin Barnett offers a rare insider perspective on leadership at the edge of the nation.
Serving as Premier from 2008 to 2017, Barnett played a central role in some of the state’s most significant developments, including Elizabeth Quay, Perth Stadium, Yagan Square and major environmental and native title agreements across the Kimberley and southwest.
Grounded in Western Australia’s unique identity, Out West is both a political memoir and a story about the ambition, resilience and character of a vast state with small-town roots.
This promises to be a compelling evening for readers, political followers, business leaders and anyone interested in the story of modern Western Australia.
Light refreshments will be served on the evening.
