Oroton Spring & Summer 2017

Like the awakening that is synonymous with Spring, the new and the next emerges, this time rooted firmly in a contemporary athleticism that touches on the pioneering spirit of the 90s and takes from the vitality of the early 00s. This combines seamlessly with an artful touch drawing on the elegant sculptural forms of abstract master Henri Matisse, and echoes Oroton’s refined approach to everyday luxury.

Strength is relayed first in bold colours and then in decisive clean design, with a signature Oroton sensitivity keying into what women want right now. Primary hues send the message that this is a fresh direction with a
minimalist’s approach to style. Vibrant colour is the update: intense electric blue and bold red sit alongside jolts of bright pink and coolwater azure. Grounding it all is grown-up cognacs and fawn tones with the classicism
of perennially elegant jet black, navy and pure white. Luxurious textures like croc-embossed leather and soft calf leather, as well as expertly made details, like whip stitched handles and delicate trim, tell of the craftsmanship behind each piece.

Keeping in mind the many lives the contemporary woman leads - sometimes peripatetic, sometimes professionally focused - Oroton adds brand new confident shapes to the stable of classics, like the Empire
bag – a clever cross-body saddle bag with an oversized strap – and the Avalon – a chic everyday clutch that transforms into another cross body bag with the help of a delicate strap.

Seasonal updates come in the form of playful details. Hints of metallic are introduced through the Interstellar clutches. A retro touch, reminiscent of 70s sportswear comes wide webbing striped sport straps on bags, and
stud details on the new Maison on Forte styles.
Engaged in the dynamism of life, athletic elements like mesh fabric and rope details, make sense to the Oroton woman and are an authentic reflection of an active lifestyle without necessarily being made to function
only in those realms. The new Berkeley Sport takes the ease of the drawstring bucket and expands it to overnight bag and backpack versions that are equally gym and street ready.

Oroton is in touch with the needs necessitated by modern life in Australia, and on a larger scale, the kind of functionality and quality that can carry over in an international setting.

Timeless colours anchor the whole offering while rich tones and uplifting brights are an energizing addition that echoes the fresh sport notes, and makeup the definitive visual notes this season. Spring, like everything Oroton
does, is real life luxury redefined, the kind that translates in every situation and wherever the Oroton woman goes.

A styling signature is written this spring summer season. The new OROTON campaign is an exploration of the versatility and elegant understated luxury that has become the handwriting of the Australian brand. Light-asair
silk scarves flutter throughout, a constant thread woven in imagery that introduces the new mood of sophistication with a twist of spirit and savoir-faire this season.

A glowing terracotta backdrop for spring gives way to a fresh infusion of crisp white and the clean understatement of navy for summer, with polish model powerhouse Anna Jagodzinska fronting the campaign. The eye of photographer Simon Lekias introduces us to new season bags and accessories worn with the effortless élan and poise of the honey-haired Jagodzinska.

Anchored in clean colours the whole campaign is brought to life with make-up by Linda Jeffereys, who counts work for Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and hair by Michelle McQuillan, styled by respected Australian stylist Nicole Bonython-Hines.

The scarf comes into play in a big way; a clever, nimble all-rounder transforming from subtle flourishes on wrists to tied-on handles of bags, and bold statements of personal style: worn as lightweight tops or knotted around the head. In pure colours and custom created prints, it allows the wearer to capitalize on the versatility an
Oroton piece offers, imbuing in each a sense of the wearer’s own personality and taste.

They are pieces made to seamlessly meld with Oroton’s accessories and brand new styles like the Forte totes and Empire bag: we see them looped around the whole length of supple leather straps and bag, encapsulating the dynamic Oroton approach to versatility, each accessory instantly elevating the wardrobe they work back with.

Just like the pace of fashion at large, Oroton is ever changing and emerges with a fresh new feel and spirit for spring summer, but this time one step ahead and always tied, be it by scarf or in a symbolic sense, to timeless everyday luxury.
